Performance Store requirements
Performance Store is build to be lightweight.
The size of the Performance Store service is less than 3 MB, and depending on the number of monitored servers, only requires minimal resources.
The SQL Server hosting the Performance Store database must be SQL Server 2016 SP1 or newer.

Performance Store supports SQL Server 2008 and newer. All SQL Server editions, service packs and cumulative updates are supported.
Resource usage
The resource used on each monitored SQL Server instance is minimal.
The following shows a comparison between the resource usage from Performance Store and opening a new empty query window in SQL Server Management Studio:
